Serious Sam Next Encounter - PS2 Online - GlobalStar
My role on the project was as the sole Level and System designer, turning out a dozen online multiplayer maps over a 6 month period. With aid from a talented QA team I learnt a great deal about successful multiplayer map design from this experience. The project was a port + online component of the earlier NGC version of the same name to a PS2 multiplayer online version.

Edge Magazine said: Next Encounter is one of the grandest and busiest console battlefields yet created. This is a spiritual update to Space Invaders, a one-trick pony that kicks harder than most FPS thoroughbreds, making the "Medal of Honour" series seem like a vain diva by comparison. Serious Sam Next Encounter - Gamecube - GlobalStar
My role on the project was as Level and System designer, turning out around a dozen single player maps across three locations; Rome, China and Atlantis. Using a custom version of the Serious Editor and an engine built from scratch for NGC, Sam was the definitive two year FPS development experience, from the beginning of pre-production to delivering the master. Top fun and hard work.
